D0210: Intraoral, Comprehensive Series of Radiographic Images
Definition
D0210 is the CDT code for a full mouth series of x-rays (often called an FMX), a set of periapical and bitewing images that shows every tooth.
Why it matters for the front desk
A full mouth series is usually taken for new patients and then repeated every few years. Many plans cover it only once every three or five years, and some count a panoramic image (D0330) toward the same limit, so a pano taken at another office can block an FMX here. Checking the date of the last full series or pano during verification tells the team whether the plan will pay before the images are taken.
