D0330: Panoramic Radiographic Image
Definition
D0330 is the CDT code for a panoramic x-ray, a single image that shows both jaws, all the teeth and the surrounding structures.
Why it matters for the front desk
Panoramic images are common for wisdom tooth evaluations, implant planning and new patient workups. Many plans limit them to once every three or five years, and often share that limit with the full mouth series (D0210), so the plan may pay for one but not both within the same period. Asking when the patient last had a pano or FMX, at any office, avoids an unexpected bill for images.
